SHS students to receive free tablets by April – Adutwum

During the speech and prize-giving day at Wesley Girls’ Senior High School, the Minister for Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, said that all SHS students in Ghana will receive a free tablet latest by April this year.

This initiative is poised to revolutionize the educational landscape by providing students with modern tools to aid their learning journey.

Dr. Adutwum revealed that the government’s goal is to distribute over 1.4 million tablets to students enrolled in the free SHS program across the country. This strategic move aims to bridge the digital divide and empower students with access to educational resources beyond traditional textbooks.

The implementation of this program signifies a paradigm shift towards a more technology-driven approach to education. With each student receiving a tablet, the Ministry of Education envisions a seamless integration of digital learning platforms into the curriculum. This will enable students to engage in online homework assignments, interactive learning activities, and access a vast array of educational content tailored to their academic needs.

Furthermore, Dr. Adutwum emphasized the importance of training teachers to effectively utilize these technological resources in the classroom. A comprehensive teacher training program will be rolled out to ensure educators are equipped with the necessary skills to leverage digital tools for instructional purposes.

The distribution of tablets is not merely about providing students with devices; it is about fostering a dynamic learning environment that encourages collaboration, critical thinking, and innovation. By embracing technology, schools can enhance student engagement, facilitate personalized learning experiences, and prepare students for success in an increasingly digital world.

In summary, the initiative to provide free tablets to SHS students represents a significant step towards modernizing education and empowering the next generation with the tools they need to thrive in the 21st century. stands as a specialized blog concentrating on education, committed to delivering reliable Ghana Education News.
