Nkawkaw School Bus Accident Leaves Teacher And Three Pupils Dead

In a heart-wrenching turn of events, the school bus of Ampea Memorial Institute was involved in a devastating accident along the Nkawkaw highway in the Eastern region.

Reports indicate that the bus was carrying ypupils to their destinations. The bus collided with another vehicle as it maneuvered around a bend onto the main road.

The school bus, bearing the registration number GE 2291-10, collided with a private V8 vehicle registered as GT 8455-19, which belonged to a Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) in the Asante region. The impact of the collision was catastrophic, causing both vehicles to veer off the road and into a nearby ditch, resulting in the loss of four lives.

Tragically, three pupils and a female teacher lost their lives on the spot, while passengers in both vehicles sustained injuries of varying severity. Emergency responders swiftly transported the injured victims to the Holy Family Hospital in Nkawkaw, while the bodies of the deceased were transferred to the hospital morgue.

Residents of the area, grappling with shock and sorrow, voiced their concerns about the perilous nature of the road where the accident occurred, highlighting a pressing need for enhanced safety measures.

As the community mourns the loss of lives, this tragic incident underscores the urgent imperative for proactive measures to ensure road safety and prevent such devastating accidents from recurring.
