In few days time, the Ghana Education Service will open the graduate recruitment portal. Over 24,000 graduates teachers will be recruited into the Ghana Education Service.
The portal is expected to be opened in January or early February, 2024. Currently, over 200,000 graduates from various universities awaits the opening of this portal. However, only 24,000 or less will be recruited.
While the recruitment portal for graduates with diploma certificates was recently opened, the process for those with degree certificates is delayed. GES is streamlining to address staff imbalances in senior high schools, ensuring each school has the right number of teachers before initiating the recruitment process.
The Minister of Finance must grant financial approval for the recruitment. Although GES has existing records, they need to conduct assessments in some schools before opening the portal.

Graduates should prepare by ensuring they have essential certificates, including the licensure examination certificate, degree certificate, national service certificate, WASSCE certificate, and BECE certificate.
The role of a teacher encompasses utilizing 21st-century technology for effective learning, enhancing learners’ research skills with new technologies, teaching diverse learning styles, attending professional development sessions, employing various assessment tools, and handling additional responsibilities assigned by the Head of Institution. The exact portal opening date remains unconfirmed.
