Everything You Need To Know About The 2024 BECE Registration

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has gracefully disclosed the indispensable details required from both candidates and schools to ensure a smooth and successful registration process for the forthcoming 2024 BECE.

Commencing on the 11th of March, 2024, the registration for the 2024 BECE will continue its welcoming embrace until the 19th of April, 2024, offering ample time for all concerned parties to partake in this pivotal educational milestone.

In adherence to the sacred principles upheld by the BECE for School Candidates, it’s imperative for all schools to observe the sanctity of this academic undertaking. Therefore, it is strictly prohibited for schools to engage in the following activities:

  • Soliciting students or advertising the BECE through any medium, be it print, electronic, or social media platforms.
  • Registering students who lack the necessary continuous assessment records, which constitute 30% of the grading alongside the external examination score. This includes students who have not undergone schooling from their first year to the third year of junior high school, as well as those lacking documented continuous assessment records due to school transfers.
  • Enrolling students who are not in their final year or are not authentic students of the respective school. Instances of students migrating from public to private institutions solely for the purpose of BECE registration have been brought to our attention.

As we embark on this journey together, it is crucial to furnish the registration process with the required details, including but not limited to:

  1. School contact numbers
  2. School email address
  3. Digital address
  4. Comprehensive candidate names (Surname, first name, and any other name)
  5. Date of birth
  6. Gender of candidates (M= Male and F= Female)
  7. Ghanaian Language proficiency
  8. Selection of optional subjects
  9. Guardian’s contact information
  10. Recent passport photograph

Furthermore, it’s paramount to tread cautiously during the registration process, as any errors will necessitate a corrective fee of ¢100 payable at the WAEC office.
